Benefits of Membership

Rainbow Families is a nonprofit service organization, dedicated to the support, empowerment, and education of LGBTQ+ families, prospective parents, and allies.
Becoming a Rainbow Families member brings about several benefits as detailed below.
Important: Should membership dues or other fees present a roadblock to participation, please send an email in confidence to our us at info@rainbowfamilies.org. Rainbow Families does not want economics to be a factor in connecting with our community and/or receiving benefit or services of membership.
Member-Only Resources
Rainbow Families’ members get access to member-only resources including our Member Directory, our private Facebook Group, and our expanded Resource Directory that includes member reviews (coming soon).
No-Cost Support Groups
Rainbow Families offers a variety of support groups for LGBTQ+ parents and prospective parents. Members are able to join any support group at no additional cost, while non-members pay between $40-$60 for support group access.
Early Access to Signature Events
Rainbow Families offers several signature events that sell-out nearly every year! Members get two-week early access to most signature events including our Family Camping Weekend, our Conference & Family Gathering, our annual trip to Cox Farms’ Fall Festival, our Great Wolf Lodge Family Trips, and more.
Discounts on Family Events
Rainbow Families’ members receive discounts on nearly all of paid ticketed events and families can save over $100 per person in event registration fees annually. Additionally, Rainbow Families’ waives registration fees for events for members where possible.
Join a Community of LGBTQ+ Families
By becoming a Rainbow Families’ member, you and your family join hundreds of other LGBTQ+ families in the DMV all seeking community. You’ll be connected to life-long friends, be able to host playdates in your neighborhood with Rainbow Families’ support, and, most importantly, your children will be connected to other families just like theirs!
